Mauritius’ Most Iconic Hike
Le Morne Brabant — Beyond the Crowds
Duration: 3–4 hours
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
Distance: Approximately 7 km
From: €50 per person ( Approx. Rs 2,500)
What’s included: Local host, headlamp(If needed), light snack, tea or coffee, refreshing drink and photos of your experience.
Le Morne can welcome up to 300–400 hikers a day, but we believe such a meaningful place deserves to be experienced differently. We carefully plan each hike outside the busiest periods, giving you the space to slow down, connect with the mountain and truly take in its atmosphere.
More than a climb, this is a journey through breathtaking landscapes and Mauritian history. Along the way, your local host shares the stories, culture and symbolism that make this UNESCO World Heritage Site so important to Mauritius.
The first section is relatively accessible, while the upper section becomes steeper and more technical, requiring good mobility and a reasonable fitness level.
Expect a small-group adventure, a relaxed rhythm, spectacular views and plenty of time to pause, breathe and capture the moment—far from the usual rush.

The best guide you could possibly find in Mauritius. I climbed Le Morne with him and, honestly, if I were to do another excursion or travel around Mauritius again, I would choose him without hesitation.

Ilona

We were lucky enough to watch the sunrise from the summit, with an absolutely breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. Before dawn, we even had the chance to admire the stars and spot a few shooting stars. The weather was perfect, making the experience even more special.
Thanks to Mathieu’s steady yet well-adapted pace, we were among the first to reach the top of Le Morne, allowing us to fully enjoy the peaceful panoramic view.
