1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern the services provided by Barefoot (Mauritius).

By booking a travel planning service, experience or personalized assistance through Barefoot (Mauritius), the client agrees to the present Terms & Conditions.

Barefoot (Mauritius) provides personalized travel planning, local recommendations and curated experiences in Mauritius.


2. Nature of Services

Barefoot (Mauritius) is a personalized travel planning and local experience service.

Services may include:

  • Personalized travel planning
  • Day-by-day itineraries
  • Local recommendations
  • Google Maps & custom My Maps
  • Activity suggestions
  • Accommodation assistance
  • Car rental & transfer assistance
  • Restaurant and local food recommendations
  • Personalized support before, during and after the stay

Barefoot (Mauritius) does not operate as a traditional travel agency and does not directly sell airline tickets.


3. Booking Process

Bookings and travel planning services are confirmed only after written agreement between the client and Barefoot (Mauritius).

A discovery call or written exchange may be required before confirmation.

Barefoot (Mauritius) reserves the right to refuse a booking request if the project does not align with the company’s values, availability or service approach.


4. Pricing & Payments

All prices are expressed in EUR or MUR unless stated otherwise.

To confirm a travel planning service, a 50% deposit may be required before work begins.

The remaining balance must be paid before the delivery of the final itinerary and travel documents.

Due to the personalized nature of the services provided, planning fees are generally non-refundable once the planning process has started.

Barefoot (Mauritius) reserves the right to pause or cancel the planning process in case of non-payment.


5. Local Partners & Third-Party Services

Barefoot (Mauritius) carefully selects local partners and service providers.

However, activities, accommodations, transportation services or third-party experiences remain the responsibility of the respective providers.

Barefoot (Mauritius) cannot be held responsible for:

  • cancellations,
  • delays,
  • accidents,
  • weather conditions,
  • service interruptions,
  • injuries,
  • or disputes caused by third-party providers.

Clients are encouraged to verify their own travel insurance coverage before traveling.


6. Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for:

  • providing accurate travel information,
  • checking passport and visa requirements,
  • respecting local laws and safety instructions,
  • obtaining appropriate insurance coverage,
  • informing Barefoot (Mauritius) of any medical condition, allergy or special requirement relevant to the trip.

7. Changes & Cancellations

Any modification request must be communicated as early as possible.

Barefoot (Mauritius) reserves the right to adapt recommendations or itineraries due to weather conditions, local availability, safety concerns or unforeseen circumstances.

Cancellation conditions may vary depending on the nature of the service and the local partners involved.


8. Intellectual Property

All itineraries, travel diaries, maps, recommendations, texts and personalized documents created by Barefoot (Mauritius) remain intellectual property of Barefoot (Mauritius).

They are intended solely for the client’s personal use and may not be copied, reproduced or commercially distributed without written permission.


9. Privacy & Personal Data

Barefoot (Mauritius) respects the privacy of its clients and handles personal data in accordance with applicable privacy regulations.

Personal information is used only for travel planning, communication and service organization purposes.

10. Force Majeure

Barefoot (Mauritius) cannot be held responsible for delays, cancellations or disruptions caused by events beyond reasonable control, including:

  • extreme weather,
  • cyclones,
  • natural disasters,
  • government restrictions,
  • strikes,
  • transportation issues,
  • health emergencies,
  • or other unforeseen events.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Mauritius.

Any dispute related to the services provided by Barefoot (Mauritius) shall fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Mauritius.
